Import packing and purchase planning
Caster MOQ and Carton Volume: An Import Buyer’s RFQ Guide
Compare real XIN JIE MOQ, lead-time and carton references. Calculate CBM per 1,000 casters and clarify sample, mixed-model and warehouse terms before ordering.
Key takeaways
- MOQ and lead-time references belong to the individual model and quotation.
- Using the published carton dimensions, 1,000 JQ-183-1 casters require 0.4914 m³ of carton volume; 1,000 JQ-184 casters require 0.307125 m³ before full-carton rounding.
- A lower calculated carton volume is not a freight quote, a container loading plan or proof that the models are interchangeable.
Introduction
A unit-price comparison misses part of the purchasing decision. Compare the approved caster, quantity per carton, shipment volume and approval schedule together, then ask for the missing commercial terms in writing.
This guide is written for global B2B buyers who need practical supplier, product and application information before sending a caster wheel RFQ.
Start with the published model-level references
XIN JIE lists JQ-183-1 as a 50 mm brake caster and JQ-184 as a 38/50 mm brake caster. Both public pages show a 1,000-piece MOQ reference, a 15-day lead-time reference and a carton size of 63 × 30 × 26 cm. The quantity per carton differs: 100 pieces for JQ-183-1 and 160 for JQ-184.
These entries were checked on the public pages on 20 October 2026. Confirm the chosen size, mounting, color and brake configuration before treating the reference as a quotation. JQ-184 lists two size options; the packing plan for the exact ordered option must be confirmed.
| Reference | JQ-183-1 | JQ-184 |
|---|---|---|
| Product size | 50 mm | 38/50 mm listed options |
| MOQ reference | 1,000 pcs | 1,000 pcs |
| Lead-time reference | 15 days | 15 days |
| Pieces per carton | 100 | 160 |
| Carton dimensions | 63 × 30 × 26 cm | 63 × 30 × 26 cm |

Calculate carton volume before comparing logistics
Convert the dimensions to meters: 0.63 × 0.30 × 0.26 = 0.04914 m³ per carton. For a normalized comparison, divide by the published pieces per carton and multiply by 1,000. That gives 0.4914 m³ for JQ-183-1 and 0.307125 m³ for JQ-184.
The second figure is 37.5% lower on this normalized carton-volume measure. It does not mean freight cost is 37.5% lower: chargeable weight, packing changes, pallets, handling, transport mode and the freight quotation can change the bill. The two products also require their own technical approval.
Unit: m³ · bars start at zero
Calculated from the public carton dimensions and piece counts. Fractional-carton normalization; excludes pallets, loading gaps and freight charges.

Round to real cartons before issuing the order
A normalized measure is useful for comparison, but dispatch uses a physical packing plan. At 1,000 pieces, JQ-183-1 fills 10 cartons. JQ-184 corresponds to 6.25 cartons mathematically. If the supplier uses the same outer carton for the partial balance, allow 7 cartons and 0.34398 m³; the supplier may instead quote a different partial-carton arrangement.
Another option is 1,120 JQ-184 pieces in 7 full cartons. This adds 120 pieces beyond the 1,000-piece reference, so evaluate cash tied up and actual demand before rounding the order upward. Full cartons are not automatically the best buying decision.
- Ask for net and gross weight per carton and total shipment weight.
- Confirm whether the stated dimensions are the final external carton dimensions.
- Get pallet dimensions, stack height and stackability if pallets are required.
- Have the forwarder quote from the final packing list; do not estimate container capacity from CBM alone.
| Model and quantity | Physical carton assumption | Outer-carton volume |
|---|---|---|
| JQ-183-1: 1,000 pcs | 10 full cartons | 0.49140 m³ |
| JQ-184: 1,000 pcs | 6 full + 1 partial, same outer carton assumed | 0.34398 m³ |
| JQ-184: 1,120 pcs | 7 full cartons | 0.34398 m³ |
Calculated planning scenarios, not a confirmed shipment. Request actual gross weight, partial-carton dimensions and pallet configuration.

Get a QuoteSeparate sample time, approval time and production lead time
The 15-day reference on these two pages should not become a door-to-door promise. Ask the supplier when the production clock starts: deposit, drawing sign-off, color approval, approved sample or another agreed event. Also ask whether the quoted period means calendar days or working days.
Create separate milestones for sample preparation, courier delivery, fit and function approval, production completion, inspection and cargo readiness. For a new color, ask whether an available color card or a physical material sample can be supplied. Approve the actual tread or plastic component when appearance matters.
If a sample fails the agreed test, document the revision and retest before releasing the bulk order. Include the required report and quality checks in the RFQ so test cost and timing can be quoted. Neither a public lead time nor an approved product photo establishes that laboratory testing is included.
Clarify mixed orders and warehouse requirements
The wholesale sourcing page invites buyers to discuss mixed models and packing separation during RFQ. That is a useful starting point, but it does not promise that a 1,000-piece MOQ can be split freely across any number of models, colors or mounting variants. Send a quantity breakdown for each SKU and ask how MOQ applies.
For mixed containers, specify model labels, carton numbering, packing-list format and responsibility for consolidation. Ask whether supplier-side storage, staggered dispatch or an overseas warehouse is available, and obtain location, holding period, fees and stock ownership terms. These arrangements are not established by the public product references.
Your final comparison should use the same specification and commercial basis: approved model, quantity, packing, delivery term, named location and agreed tests. Keep customs, duty and route-specific charges in the forwarder or customs quotation rather than treating the article’s carton arithmetic as a landed-cost calculation.

Send a quote request that can be answered in one pass
Attach a short line-item sheet with model, size, mounting, material, brake, color reference, quantity and destination. Include the sample and test requirements, carton labels and any need for mixed loading or staged shipment. Ask the supplier to mark every unconfirmed field.
For these two models, explicitly reconfirm the 1,000-piece reference, the 15-day reference, pieces per carton and the final external carton size for the selected variant. Request a dated quotation and final packing list before booking freight. This keeps an apparently attractive unit price connected to the product and shipment you actually intend to buy.

FAQ
Is the MOQ always 1,000 pieces for every XIN JIE caster?
No. The cited JQ-183-1 and JQ-184 pages list a 1,000-piece reference. Other models may differ or require RFQ confirmation, and custom variants need their own quotation.
Does 37.5% lower carton volume mean 37.5% lower freight cost?
No. It is a normalized volume comparison using the published packing data. Freight also depends on weight, pallets, route, mode, handling and the final quotation.
Can 1,000 JQ-184 pieces ship in 6.25 cartons?
6.25 is a mathematical normalization. A physical shipment needs an agreed partial-carton plan; seven identical outer cartons would occupy 0.34398 m³ before pallets.
Are mixed containers or overseas warehouses guaranteed?
No. Discuss mixed-model quantities and packing with the supplier. Warehouse availability, location, fees and shipment responsibility need written confirmation.
