Conductive vs Antistatic Casters: What Buyers Should Put in an RFQ

Understand electrical-resistance terminology for caster RFQs. Compare manufacturer reference ranges and request exact-assembly evidence before an OEM purchase.

Key takeaways

  • Ask for measured resistance of the exact assembly and the required application-specific method, not a color-based assumption.
  • External manufacturer definitions below are reference values, not XIN JIE ratings or certification of an equipment grounding system.
  • Keep specimen identity, conditions and inspection requirements with the purchase.

Introduction

A black wheel is not enough evidence for an electrically conductive caster. Start with the equipment owner’s resistance requirement and qualification method, then ask the supplier to identify an assembly it can substantiate.

This guide is written for global B2B buyers who need practical supplier, product and application information before sending a caster wheel RFQ.

Start with the equipment requirement

A black wheel is not enough evidence for an electrically conductive caster. Start with the equipment owner’s resistance requirement and qualification method, then ask the supplier to identify an assembly it can substantiate.

Describe the route, floor, cleaning exposure, load and operating environment. The caster is one part of the equipment-to-floor path. A component description alone does not approve the complete system or establish suitability for a hazardous environment. Have the responsible engineering or ESD specialist define the applicable requirement.

Separate wheel material, bearing, fork, mounting interface and any coatings in the drawing review. Ask which specimen was measured and how it was assembled. Do not accept a material coupon result as complete-equipment evidence without a justified link to the actual application.

Compare the published reference values

Blickle’s environmental guide describes its electrically conductive wheels or casters using a resistance no greater than 10,000 ohms, and its antistatic class using 100,000 to 10,000,000 ohms. These are that manufacturer’s published definitions, accessed on 3 November 2026.

The table retains the ranges and their units. It does not create a classification for values between the two listed bands, prescribe a test voltage, or replace an application-specific standard. Do not use these bands as a claim that any XIN JIE caster has been tested.

What should the measurement record identify?

Request the specimen model, drawing revision, material and assembly configuration. Agree the method, electrodes or contact arrangement, test voltage, conditioning, load and environment with the qualified test provider before collecting data. Record resistance in ohms, together with the instrument and conditions.

Blickle also notes that tread contamination can affect conductivity and that the operator should check it periodically. Ask the equipment owner to define the inspection process and acceptance criteria for the actual installation. A clean-sample result does not automatically cover a dirty floor or an unmaintained wheel.

No public model-specific electrical experiment was available for the XIN JIE products used here. This is a proposed evidence checklist, not a report of successful qualification. Do not label a model ESD-certified, explosion-safe or maintenance-free without the appropriate evidence.

Use public XIN JIE models as inquiry starting points

JQ-211-2 is listed as a black 3 inch PU industrial caster, with a 7–10-day lead-time reference. MOQ requires RFQ confirmation and pieces per carton depend on the packing plan. JQ-183-1 is a gray 50 mm brake caster with a 1,000-piece MOQ reference, a 15-day lead-time reference and 100 pieces per carton. These model-level references were checked on 3 November 2026.

Reconfirm terms for a modified material, mounting, brake, color or packing specification. The public descriptions are not evidence of an electrical-resistance class or a measured tread-hardness specification. Request those properties for the exact quoted variant before approval.

Connect sample approval with the purchase order

Send the model, application photos, mounting drawing, loaded equipment mass, floor conditions, movement frequency and quantity by configuration. Include the property you need confirmed and the required approval method, rather than only requesting a material name.

Ask for sample feasibility, preparation time, cost and courier arrangements separately from bulk-production lead time. Put drawing approval, sample assessment, report review and production release on the schedule as distinct milestones. Request the actual reports and quality-control records that apply to the ordered configuration.

For custom colors, provide a defined code or physical reference, ask whether a color card is available and approve an actual material sample. Reconfirm MOQ by model, material, brake and color; a model-level reference does not establish that quantities can be split across variants.

If mixed-container loading or staged deliveries are needed, provide line-item quantities, carton labels and the delivery sequence. Warehouse location, stock, storage duration and charges require written confirmation. The cited public pages do not establish overseas warehouse support. Carry the approved bill of materials, drawing revision and change-control requirements into the order.

FAQ

Does a black caster prove electrical conductivity?

No. Request a measured resistance result for the exact assembly using an agreed method.

Are the table ranges XIN JIE product ratings?

No. They are external Blickle definitions. Confirm the required class and actual XIN JIE configuration separately.

Can an antistatic caster approve a complete ESD installation?

A component description alone does not approve the equipment-to-floor system. The responsible specialist must define and verify the application requirements.

What should the report include?

Specimen identity, assembly revision, method, instrument, conditions, readings with units and the conclusion against agreed criteria.

Do the cited models have confirmed electrical-resistance ratings?

The public product references used here do not establish them. Request configuration-specific evidence by RFQ.
